Montmartre is a part of Paris famous for being home to impressionist painters like Van Gogh and Picasso, the original Moulin Rouge, and the setting of the film Amelie.
Amelie Sights:
This is the cafe from Amelie. The director of the film lives in this neighborhood and this was his favorite cafe. I can understand why, I had an absolutely amazing veggie burger.
The market from the movie.
This is where the can-can dance was invented and they still have shows today.
This is the back of the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur.
Here is the more famous frontside.
This is the view in front, with lots of tourists and souvenirs. At night, this area is a local hang out with beer and loud music.
A favorite restaurant of Van Gogh's.
At this restaurant Picasso would trade paintings and portraits of waitresses for food.
Street Art:
Gregos
This artist was apparently dumped by a boyfriend who told her he never wanted to see her face again. So she put these stencils of herself all over the neighborhood, some of which show her with other men.

This is just hilarious.
